Sites and sessions

Set up each place your library works from, and the shelves, stores and quarantine area inside it.

Who can do this: admins add and change sites. Coordinators can see them and use the link to session times.

A site is a building you lend from or hold sessions at, such as Hollowbrook Community Centre or St Aidan's Church Hall. Inside each site are places: the shelves, store cupboards, repair shelf and quarantine area where toys sit. Gizzago uses places to tell you where to find a toy when you pack.

Steps

Add a site

  1. Choose Settings in the sidebar, then Sites and sessions.
  2. Press Add a site. A panel opens.
  3. Type the Site name.
  4. Choose What happens here: Lending and sessions, Lending only or Sessions only (for a hall where you run Stay & Play but do not lend).
  5. Fill in the address: Address line 1, Address line 2, Town and Postcode.
  6. Add a Map link if you like (it must start with https://), and a note under Getting in, such as parking, step-free access or which door to use.
  7. Press Add site.
What you'll see

"Site added". The new site has four places ready to use: Main shelves (lendable), Repair shelf, Quarantine and Receiving.

Add a place inside a site

  1. Press Edit on the site. The panel lists the site's places, and a blank one for a new place.
  2. In New place, type the name, such as "Big toy cupboard".
  3. Choose its Kind: Shelf, Store cupboard, Repair, Quarantine, Spares or Receiving.
  4. Switch on Lendable if toys kept here can be lent.
  5. Press Add place. You will see "Place added".

To rename a place, change its Place name and press Save place.

Stop using a site

  1. Press Edit on the site.
  2. Switch off In use.
  3. Press Save site.

The site shows Switched off. Its history stays, so reports for past sessions still work.

Session times

Opening times are not set here. Under Session times, press Session rules and closures to go to the Calendar, where you set weekly sessions and the days you are closed.
