Organisation

Tell Gizzago who you are, and choose the words families and volunteers see.

Who can do this: coordinators and admins.

This group has two parts:

  • About your library: your name, contact details, charity number, address and time zone. These appear on receipts, emails and the footer of your public site.
  • The words you use: the words Gizzago uses everywhere for the things you lend, your sessions and your fees.

Steps

Change your contact details

  1. Choose Settings in the sidebar, then Organisation.
  2. Under About your library, change what you need:
    • Library name, for example "Hollowbrook Toy Library".
    • Charity number. If you are a registered charity it is shown in the footer of your public site.
    • Contact email and Phone.
    • Address line 1, Address line 2, Town and Postcode.
    • Time zone. Most UK libraries keep "Europe/London". It is used for every date and time.
  3. Press Save.
What you'll see

"About your library saved". If the time zone is not one Gizzago knows, you will see "That time zone is not recognised. Try Europe/London." If the email address is not complete, you will see "Enter an email address like hello@example.org".

Change the words you use

  1. In the same group, go to The words you use.
  2. Fill in each word:
    • One item (singular), for example "toy", "tool" or "thing".
    • Items (plural), for example "toys".
    • Session, for example "session", "opening" or "club".
    • Hire fee, for example "hire fee", "donation" or "contribution".
  3. Press Save.
What you'll see

"The words you use saved". From now on menus, buttons, emails and your public site use your words. A tool library that types "tool" and "tools" sees Browse tools on its public site and Tools and categories in Settings.

Every word must be filled in. If one is empty, Gizzago asks you to "Fill in every word."

Tips

  • Use lower case for the words. Gizzago adds a capital letter where one is needed.
  • Check your charity number carefully: it appears on every page of your public site.
