Why Gizzago asks you to confirm it's you

Understand the extra check before sensitive actions, and get through it in seconds.

Who can do this: anyone on the team doing one of the actions below, usually admins and the safeguarding lead.

Some actions could do real harm if the wrong person did them: taking all your members' details out, changing who has access, or reading safeguarding notes. If you left your laptop signed in and walked away, someone else could try. So before these actions, Gizzago asks you to prove it is still you.

The check lasts 5 minutes. Within that time you can do several sensitive things without being asked again.

Steps

  1. Start the action, for example press Export CSV on the People list.
  2. Gizzago opens a page headed Extra check and Confirm it's you: "This part of the library handles money and access, so we ask once more. It lasts a few minutes."
  3. Either type Your password and press Confirm it's you, or type the six digits from your authenticator app under Authenticator code and press Use this code.
  4. Gizzago takes you back to the page you were on.
  5. Press the button again (for example Export CSV) if it did not carry on by itself.
What you'll see

The action goes ahead: the file downloads, the role is saved, or the notes open. If you wait more than 5 minutes before the next sensitive action, Gizzago asks again.

When Gizzago asks

  • Exporting people: Export CSV on the People list, and Export (CSV) for one household.
  • Exporting everything: Export all my data in Settings > Data, privacy and billing.
  • Money downloads and corrections: the Gift Aid file, and reversing a payment.
  • The audit log download.
  • Safeguarding notes: opening or adding them.
  • Anonymising a person.
  • The team: inviting someone, cancelling an invitation, and changing someone's roles.
  • Your library's own web address.

If it does not work

  • "That didn't work" with a password: check Caps Lock and try again. If you have forgotten your password, sign out and use Email me a link on the sign-in page, then change your password on your Security page.
  • "That code didn't work": authenticator codes change every few seconds. Wait for a fresh one and type it straight away.
  • "Too many tries": wait a minute, then try again.
