Keyboard shortcuts
Faster lending with a keyboard or a scanner. Everything also works by tapping.
Who this is for: anyone using the desk with a keyboard or barcode scanner, and coordinators on a laptop.
A barcode scanner types the code and presses Enter for you, so with a scanner most visits need no typing at all.
On the desk
| Key | What it does |

| / | Jump to the scan and lookup box |
| Enter | Look up what you typed; acknowledge a highlighted line; at a return, confirm all pieces are there |
| O | Override a highlighted line (you give a reason) |
| Esc | Drop the selected line, or close a form, the toy lookup or the "Not in the catalogue yet" form |
| ? | Show or hide these shortcuts |
Everywhere else

| Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac) | Open the search box, which also runs commands |
| Esc | Close the side panel |
| ? | List the shortcuts for the page you are on |
Steps: see the shortcuts on screen
- Make sure you are not typing in a box (press Esc first if you are).
- Press ?.
What you'll see
A short list of the keys for the screen you are on. Press ? or Esc to close it. On the admin pages, Keyboard shortcuts is also in your account menu at the top right.
