Footer links
Add your own links to the bottom of every public page, so families can reach your other pages.
Who can do this: admins only.
The footer is the strip at the bottom of every page on your public site. Gizzago always puts Help, Fees, Accessibility and Privacy there. You can add up to six links of your own, which appear before those four. Good uses are a link back to your main website, a donations page, your volunteering page, your policies or an email address.
Steps
- Choose Settings in the sidebar, then Public site.
- Click Footer links. The row says "None yet" if you have not added any.
- Press Add a link.
- Under Link 1, type the Words people will see, such as "Donate" or "Our policies". Keep them short: there is room for 40 characters.
- Fill in where it Goes to:
- a page on your Gizzago site, such as /join or /events,
- a full web address starting with https://, such as https://www.yourlibrary.org.uk/donate,
- or an email address starting with mailto:, such as mailto:hello@yourlibrary.org.uk.
- Press Add a link again for each extra link, up to six.
- Check the footer in the preview on the right.
- Press Publish changes.
What you'll see
Your links in the footer of every public page, in the order you added them, followed by Help, Fees, Accessibility and Privacy. The Footer links row in the editor lists their words.
Change or remove a link
- Click Footer links.
- Change the Words or where it Goes to, or press Remove on the link you no longer want.
- Press Publish changes.
Tips
- Test each link after you publish, especially full web addresses: a typing mistake leads families to an error page.
- If you already link to your main website from the welcome section or a call to action, you may not need it in the footer too.
- Your charity number in the footer comes from Organisation settings, not from here.
