What moves across, and how

Know what will be waiting for you in Gizzago after the move, and what you will need to set up again.

Who can do this: admins and coordinators checking a practice run. The move itself is done by the Gizzago team with you.

What comes across

Toys and their codes. Every Lend Engine item becomes a toy in Gizzago with one copy. The code on its label stays its code, so your labels keep scanning. Lend Engine's own record number is kept as an "old label" code too, in case any barcode or link uses it. New toys added in Gizzago get new codes.

Names, cleaned. Number markers ("*5") and volunteer notes ("Needs New Photo") are taken out of the name. The original Lend Engine name is kept and shown on the review list.

Details. Description, brand, fee, loan period, serial number, value, condition, and whether the toy can be reserved or shown on the website. Archived items stay archived.

Photos. The main photo and gallery photos. They come across private, unless you agree with us that photos already public on your Lend Engine site can stay public.

Categories, ages and tags. Categories come across (you can merge small ones as part of the move). Age tags become the toy's age band; where a toy has several, Gizzago uses the youngest.

Members and households. Names, email, phone, address and member number. Each account holder becomes a household. People who share an email address or a home address are grouped into one household and put on the review list for you to check.

Memberships. The membership type, start and end dates, and status. Lend Engine's "overdue" memberships become either waiting for payment or expired, depending on the end date.

Children. As a birth month and year only. Gizzago never keeps a child's full date of birth. See Children's data.

Marketing consent. Only where Lend Engine recorded it. Gizzago never assumes someone has said yes.

Loans and reservations. Toys out on loan come across on loan, to the right member, with the right due date. Past loans become history, so "times borrowed" is right from day one. Reservations become reservations.

Payments and balances. Brought across in a separate, supervised step and checked against Lend Engine.

What does not come across

  • Passwords. They cannot be moved. Each member gets an invitation email with a sign-in link, then chooses a password or a passkey.
  • Staff logins. Volunteers and coordinators are invited to Gizzago separately, with the right roles.
  • Unfinished baskets and cancelled loans.
  • Email templates and settings. Gizzago has its own messages and settings, which you set up with us.
  • Venue records set up as items. These become sites and sessions instead.

Steps: check a practice run

  1. In the sidebar, choose Toys and compare the number in the Catalogue heading with Lend Engine.
  2. Open ten toys you know well. Check the name, photo, category, age, fee and code.
  3. In People, open ten members. Check their household, membership end date and children.
  4. Open Toys > Add toys > Lend Engine review and look at what is waiting.
  5. Tell us anything that looks wrong. We fix the rules and run it again.
