Work through the Lend Engine review list

Give a person's answer to each thing the move could not decide on its own.

Who can do this: coordinators and admins answer entries. Catalogue volunteers can see the toy entries (with "A coordinator answers these"). Member entries are shown to coordinators and admins only.

Everything from Lend Engine comes across as one toy with one copy, and every member as a household. Nothing is merged or multiplied until someone chooses. The review list holds the choices.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, choose Toys, then Add toys, then the Lend Engine review card. (The card only appears while there are entries.)
  2. Use To do for what is waiting, and Done to see answers already given.
  3. Pick a reason chip to work through one kind at a time:
    • Name says how many: the Lend Engine name had a number, such as "*5".
    • Same name: several records share a name.
    • No category: the toy is in no category.
    • Note in the name: the name carried a note for volunteers, such as "Needs New Photo".
    • Venue, not a toy: a venue set up as an item. It was not brought across as a toy.
    • Under Members: No email, Shared email, Email may be mistyped, Date not readable, End date estimated, Membership unclear, Grouped into a household, Child with no birth date and Repeated child dates.
  4. Read the card. It shows the photo, the code, the toy's name in Gizzago, the Lend Engine name and a sentence saying what needs deciding.
  5. Answer it with the buttons on the card (see below).
What you'll see

A green line on the card with your answer, for example "5 identical units under one code (quantity 5)". The entry moves to Done. When nothing is left, the page says Nothing left to review.

The "*N" question: three answers

For Name says how many, check How many? (Gizzago fills in the number from the name), then choose one:

  • 5 identical, one label: five interchangeable things under the one code, such as five balance boards. Gizzago keeps a count. See Labelled copies and counted stock.
  • One set lent together: it is one thing with five parts, such as a set of five bean bags. It stays as one copy. Add the parts on its Pieces tab.
  • 5 toys, each labelled: five separate toys that should each have a label. Gizzago makes the extra copies with new codes. Print their labels and stick them on.

Not sure? Look at the shelf. The answer can differ from toy to toy.

Other answers

  • Same name: Same toy: combine makes one toy with several copies. Different toys keeps them apart; give each a clearer name afterwards. Records with loans or bookings cannot be combined here.
  • No category: choose one under Category, then press Add to category.
  • Note in the name, Venue, not a toy and every member entry: do what the card says, then press Mark as done. For a member, click their name, fix it on their page (add an email, correct a date), then come back and press Mark as done.

Good to know

  • Answers survive later practice runs, so you do not lose work by starting early.
  • Members with no email, or a shared one, are invited once their entry is fixed. Do those first.
