Weekly rules and closures
Set up your regular sessions once, and mark the days you are shut so those sessions are cancelled.
Who can do this: coordinators and admins.
A rule says, for example, "every Wednesday, 10am to 12 noon, at Hollowbrook Community Centre". Gizzago fills the calendar from it for the next twelve weeks and keeps adding more as time passes. A closure says "we are shut on these days", and cancels any sessions on them.
Steps
Add a weekly rule
- Choose Calendar in the sidebar, then the Rules and closures tab.
- Next to Session rules, press Add rule.
- Choose What kind: Lending session or Event. For an event, choose it in Which event.
- Choose Where the sessions happen.
- Type a Title, such as "Saturday lending".
- Choose the Day, then the Starts and Ends times.
- Choose How often: Every week, Every other week, Every 3 weeks or Every 4 weeks.
- Pick the First date. Leave Last date empty to carry on until you stop the rule.
- Press Save rule.
A message such as "Rule saved: Every Sunday, 2pm to 3pm". The rule is listed under Session rules, and its sessions appear on the calendar.
To stop a rule, click it in the list, press Stop this rule, then Stop rule.
Add a closure
- On the Rules and closures tab, next to Closures, press Add closure.
- Choose Which site, or All sites.
- Fill in From and To. For a single day, use the same date in both.
- Type a Reason, such as "Hall booked for a wedding". It shows on the calendar.
- Press Save closure.
"Closure saved", with how many sessions were cancelled. In the calendar the day reads "Closed:" and your reason. People booked on events that day are emailed. Sessions that have already started are left alone.
To undo a closure, click it in the list, press Remove closure, then Remove.
School holidays and term time
Gizzago cannot follow school terms by itself yet. If you only open in term time, keep a weekly rule and add each half term and holiday as a closure.
Also in Settings
Settings, Sites and sessions has a Session rules and closures button that brings you to the same page.
