Add a session, or start one now
Put a one-off session on the calendar, or open the desk right now when nothing is planned.
Who can do this: coordinators and admins.
Most libraries set up their regular sessions once, as a weekly rule (see Weekly rules and closures). Use the steps here for the extras: a one-off Saturday, a summer pop-up, or a session nobody planned.
Steps
Start a session right now
- Choose Calendar in the sidebar.
- Press Add session. A panel opens on the right.
- Under Starting right now?, press Start session now at Hollowbrook Community Centre. There is one button for each of your sites.
- Gizzago makes a two-hour session that starts now and takes you straight to the desk.
If a session at that site is already running, Gizzago takes you to that one instead of making a second. You can also press Ctrl + K (Cmd + K on a Mac) anywhere and type "Start session now".
Plan a one-off session
- Choose Calendar in the sidebar, then press Add session.
- Under Or plan one for later, choose Where, for example St Aidan's Church Hall.
- Choose What kind: Lending session, or Event for an extra date of an event you have already set up. For an event, choose it in Which event.
- Type a Title, such as "Half-term lending".
- Fill in the Date, then the Starts and Ends times.
- Press Add session.
The session page opens with your title as its heading and a Pack button at the top. The session is on the calendar straight away. Reservations for a lending session close at the cut-off set in Borrowing settings, usually 18:00 the day before.
Change a session's title or times
- Open the session from the Calendar.
- On the Details tab, press Change this session.
- Change the Title, Starts or Ends.
- Press Save changes. You will see "Session updated".
Once a session has started, its title and times can no longer change. To move a session to another day, cancel it and add a new one (see Cancel a session or event date).
